Carleton University - School of Computer Science Undergraduate Honours Project Winter 2010 Slide-Slide: A Game of a Million Faces Chris Hicks ABSTRACT Design is a continually evolving process of constant feedback. From the initial thought sparking an idea, the sharing and structuring of an idea, to the re-versioning of the product. It all arises from a process of continuous feedback. In the big picture this feedback is communication. When ideas move between minds everyone sees them slightly differently, and it is this function which allows them to continually evolve. By limiting the design collaboration to members of the company they in-turn are limiting the evolution of their product. Although the company may desire to maintain content control to express their unique style, this should not prevent them from maximizing community contribution. By providing a method for community development a company can maximize this form of feedback, while still maintaining a grip on the main content style. |
