Carleton University - School of Computer Science Undergraduate Honours Project Summer 2011 Evolution of rules for the construction of architectures by stigmergic agents in a three-dimensional space Fedor Ilitchev
ABSTRACT This paper describes a method for evolving 3D Architectures using the genetic algorithm. Though heavily based on past work by Theraulaz and Bornabeau, it distinguishes itself through the use of a performance-based fitness functions and a more traditional implementation of the genetic algorithm. The paper focuses on one particular family of fitness functions and shows how it can be used for the evolution of a variety of predictable results. |
