ABSTRACT The Ottawa Parks and Recreation app is an iPhone application allowing users to browse and find parks and recreational facilities in the City of Ottawa. The purpose of the project is to evaluate and make use of mapping and point of interest information available from the City of Ottawa's Open Data Initiative and integrate the data within an iOS application built in Objective-C. The project will review current offerings and attempt to offer more features than the alternatives through its implementation of three frameworks: SQLite, MapKit and CoreLocation. |
