Carleton University - School of Computer Science Undergraduate Honours Project Winter 2010 Vehicular Velocity Pattern Matching in Intelligent Traffic Systems
ABSTRACT This project explores vehicular communication within an Intelligent Traffic System. Specifically, methods of collecting and utilizing Floating Car Data from various sources are explored. This type of data is exploited to find excessive velocity (or speeding) in a road network. The data is analyzed stored and patterns discovered, and finally stored for later use. Geographical Information Systems can then use the data to represent the output in a more meaningful way to end users, such as law enforcement. This assists in keeping roads safe as intelligent systems become more efficient. |
