Carleton University - School of Computer Science Undergraduate Honours Project Winter 2010 RobotTracker Improvements Sara Verkaik
ABSTRACT The RobotTracker system used in the robotics courses to identify and follow robots uses a ceiling-mounted webcam and tags attached to each robot. With a newly updated robot form, the current system used is no longer functional. The primary goal of this project is to find a smaller and more accurate tag design through research and experimentation of various approaches. In the hopes of reducing the number of programs users must utilize when completing a robotics project, additional features must be incorporated into the RobotTracker to make it a more diverse program. During this process, the user interface behind the RobotTracker must be overhauled to make it more accessible and compliant with common user interface design philosophies. Finally, the TrackerServer communication system which allows networked RobotTrackers to communicate with each other and other related programs must be optimized and extended to allow communication with the new Robot Bluetooth System. |
