ABSTRACT With the rapid development of technology, more and more applications appear within the field of mobile ad-hoc sensor networks. This time I'll present one fundamental topic of them --- localization. Localization applications aim at finding and expressing the accurate location information of nodes within the network. It is regarded as a basic challenge because once implemented, location application can provide much necessary information needed by the upper level applications.
Currently, Global-Positioning-System is widely used for providing location information. It works for our daily use but not efficient in mobile ad-hoc sensor networks. For our work, we're trying to improve a way providing location information without the use of GPS technology. Also, even GPS is used, we just regard the information map it gives as the backup map rather than the first resource. And I'll present how it works for out 4-step localization algorithm.
