ABSTRACT Non-photorealistic rendering is an area of computer graphics that often derives inspiration from artists. In this instance our work draws inspiration from the artistic movement of Luminism. The work involves identifying key artistic elements of the movement and synthesizing computational methods that can approximate the identified artistic techniques. Elements identified include light, atmosphere, exaggerated terrain and features. Techniques we intend to explore include volume rendering, ray tracing, and procedurally generated terrain and trees. Additional effort has been focused on evaluation of success. |
