The New Computer Science 2010
Mobile and Social Networking Applications

There is an overwhelming need for computer science graduates to
replace the millions of baby boomers retiring from the IT workforce
over the next 15 years. The national job market for our graduates is
strong, and growing, in small, medium and large enterprises. OCRI
reports that Ottawa alone has over 600 software firms, with annual
revenues in excess of $1 billion, making it Canada's software capital and
a world leader in software development and innovation.
Have you considered the new Mobile and Social Networking
Applications stream of our Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours)
program? Smartphones, such as Apple's iPhone, are continuing to grow
in use and popularity both with individuals and with businesses. The
number of applications for mobile devices is dramatically increasing
and so is their sophistication. In this new stream, in addition to getting
a strong general education in Computer Science and Software
Engineering, you'll also learn the principles and practice of developing
mobile applications.
