Dr. Wilf R. LaLonde

Professor Dr. Wilf LaLonde received his B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees from the University of Toronto in 1969 and 1971 respectively and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Waterloo in 1975. His current research interests are associated with real-time 3D games. He has done extensive consulting in object-oriented systems, particularly in areas related to Smalltalk. He was the author of "The Smalltalk Column" in the Journal of Object-Oriented Programming, co-author of two books, Inside Smalltalk, Vols. 1 and 2, and Smalltalk/V: Practice and Experience, and sole author of Discovering Smalltalk.

Wilf's current focus is on real-time 3D games programming and support tools for building games. An early course in this area was Comp 4002 (last given Winter '2011) and Comp 4501 (Winter '2016). Some of the old JOOP articles materials are available in JOOP.
